This is how I felt when I got my acceptance letter from UW...

I got in!! Yesterday I got my letter from University of Washington granting me admission to the University. Whoooo! 68 people applied to the Medical Technology program, and I'm one of just 30 who were admitted! And Dave was admitted into the RN-to-BSN program at UW Bothell. Yip, we're going to be Huskies together!

This is all very exciting. It means that we're moving alllllllllll... the way to the other side of the country in a few months, and then 2 years of really, really rigorous schoolwork (Dave's program is only 1 year). So I've decided to start a blog and try to keep up with all the things I'm learning, so that maybe others can learn from it (in case I decide to publish this stuff), and so at the end of all this I can look back on it and see how far I've come, and of course so that my family at home can keep track of me!

Here's a picture someone else took of the UW campus in spring, in case anyone is out there wondering why the heck I'm moving from the Sunshine State to one of the most notoriously rainy cities in the universe.

Mmmm... isn't it just beautiful?? I love that kind of overcast. And that quad... I don't think I'll ever want to leave.

Yesterday I took my last final from the Spring semester at USF. I have to take Organic Chemistry II this summer before going to Seattle. That will be a 16-week class smooshed into 6 weeks. Luckily I have a couple of months to start studying for it before the class starts. Other than that, I'm just going to enjoy the summer and spending time with family and friends here before leaving.

And of course, we'll have to start planning how we're going to make this move! We've done some research already and have some neighborhoods that sound like they'd be good for us either because cheap-ish, close to trails and things, and/or have a young-ish hippie-ish vibe. Among them: Fremont, Ballard, Wallingford, Green Lake, Columbia City. I just found out last night that during certain times of the year Seattle gets a buuuunch of spiders. Big ones. Everywhere. Neither of us really handles spiders too well, so this will be interesting. Maybe it'll be a good thing - you know, a "face your fears" kind of thing.

Next up: I should be getting an email from the Medical Technology program this week giving me some deets on what to do next. I should also be getting a nice packet from UW with info on how to confirm my enrollment. More to come!
